Do you share our concerns about delays in service?
- The serious crime rate in the Holly area has increased by 70% in the last year!
- Beginning July 1st 2009, the Holly Village Police will no longer respond to calls in Holly Township unless there is an immediate threat to life
- Police coverage for the Township will only be provided by the State Police from Groveland Township Post on Dixie Highway
- Due to budget cuts, as of July 1st, the Michigan State Police will be laying off 100 troopers. There is a strong possibility that this reduction will impact the Groveland Township Post, and eliminate the 3 new troopers (cubs) that were recently hired
- The Groveland MSP Post patrols Holly, Rose, and Groveland Townships as well as a considerable length of I-75, for a total service area of 106 square miles. Even under the best of circumstances, there are no more than two patrol cars covering that area at any given time
- Emergency Response times for the Township range from 18-23 minutes
- Other emergency services may not enter homes or property in some cases, unless the Police have first 'secured the area'
